PHP2Shell Didn't Break the Internet (Yet)

PHP2Shell (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619) arrived with predictions of a Log4Shell-scale mass exploitation event. Panic was visible, many rushed to update or even disconnect systems from the Internet until a patch was applied. PHP runs a large share of the web and the vulnerable ranges were reported to cover every branch from 5.4 to 8.5, which are essentially the majority of versions we can see deployed in the internet installed base.

Detectify featured in KuppingerCole's Analysts 2026 Leadership Compass on Attack Surface Management

We’re excited to share that Detectify is one of the vendors featured in KuppingerCole’s Analysts 2026 Leadership Compass on Attack Surface Management. Attack surfaces grow every time a team ships code, opens a port, or points a DNS record to a new service. Keeping track of what’s exposed is hard enough, and knowing which of those exposures an attacker can actually use is harder still.

GenAI Code Security Fall 2026: The Ceiling Moves, But on the Low-Hanging Fruit

For the first time in this research series, the numbers moved. Since we began tracking AI-generated code security, the average pass rate has barely budged from 55–56%. Four snapshots, over 100 models, massive advances in capability… and the average stayed flat. Last quarter, we noted that the ceiling had actually dropped, from 72% (GPT-5 Mini, October 2025) to 68% (GPT-5.5, Summer 2026). The headline was “the ceiling won’t break.”

GitHub Octoverse 2026: AI Agents, Citizen Developers, and the New Security Reality

GitHub’s Octoverse 2026 counted 34.3 billion commits, and over 40% of pull requests now start with an AI agent. Read to learn what the State of the Octoverse 2026 Report reveals about AI, citizen developers, and our new security reality.

[New Threat Trend Data] When Bad Actors Use Reality Against Us

“Is it real?” has become a common question across our digital lives thanks to the rise of AI-generated content. A fair one, with deepfakes and AI-produced imagery flooding nearly every channel we use daily. A skeptical eye is a must, but our most recent Phishing Threat Trends Report reveals why that might not even be enough.

When a $1 million hacker bounty becomes a cybersecurity warning

A reported $1 million reward for information that could identify an alleged hacker is the kind of number that grabs attention. But the more important story for security teams is what sits behind the headline: Attackers continue to pursue access to financial accounts, identities and credentials, and organizations need defenses that assume those attacks will keep coming.

6 Best Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server Plugins for WordPress (2026)

Managing a WordPress site no longer means logging in to the dashboard for every update or routine task. With the Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor can securely interact with your WordPress site through natural language. They can retrieve content, update posts, manage WooCommerce stores, and perform other actions without custom integrations. To enable these AI interactions, you need an MCP server plugin for WordPress.

How Businesses Use Residential Proxies for Regional Security Testing and Monitoring

Businesses increasingly operate across multiple countries, making it important to understand how their websites, applications, and online services behave in different regions. A website that works correctly for customers in one country may encounter access restrictions, unusual security challenges, or performance issues elsewhere. To identify these problems, security teams need ways to examine online services from different geographic locations.
