'Node2Shell' vulnerability (CVE-2026-111497) in active exploitation

On October 21, 2026, Node.js released updates to address multiple vulnerabilities, including an issue in Brotli decoder (CVE-2026-111497). This critical buffer overflow vulnerability (CVSS score of 9.2) has become widely known as Node2Shell but has also been referred to Broccoli2Shell and HTTP2Shell. The issue exists in the Brotli decoder (c/dec/decode.c) in multiple Google Brotli versions, and products that rely on Brotli implementations are vulnerable.

Why Cybersecurity Should Be a Priority for Leicester Businesses

Cyberattacks are no longer limited to large corporations. Small and medium-sized businesses across Leicester also face security threats that can disrupt operations and expose sensitive information. According to the UK Government's Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2025, 43% of UK businesses identified a cyber breach or attack in the previous 12 months. As businesses increasingly rely on digital systems, professional IT support in Leicester can help them maintain secure, reliable IT environments.

The Key to Agentic Security is not to Secure the Agent

In September 2024, OpenAI announced o1 and updates to its Assistants API. Looking back, this marked a shift in how AI systems would be used. These systems were no longer just generating answers. They were starting to connect with tools and affect the world directly. Tool use had previously been possible, but it was clunky and unreliable. Now, it is becoming a native capability. Yet this new ability has arrived before the underlying models have become trustworthy. Real-world capability is being handed to systems whose outputs cannot always be relied upon.

7 Modern Car Safety Features to Compare Before Making a Purchase

Buying a car involves more than comparing prices and comfort. Modern cars have safety technologies that help drivers spot dangers and avoid crashes. However, two cars that seem similar may perform differently due to their sensors and software. Understanding these differences can help you make better choices. Some technologies actively assist in dangerous situations, while others only provide warnings. Comparing independently tested safety features can show you which systems offer real protection and which might have hidden limitations you won't notice during a short test drive.

How cyber incidents become information crises

Customers notice a cyber incident long before investigators finish explaining it. Failed payments and missing services raise questions that demand quick answers. Understanding how cyber incidents become information crises helps organisations respond before confusion damages trust.

ClickFix: How a fake CAPTCHA becomes a malware delivery mechanism

CAPTCHAs are designed to distinguish humans from automated systems. A user types distorted letters or clicks a few crosswalks, and in doing so proves there is a human behind the keyboard rather than a script. The whole idea rests on one assumption: A human, unlike a bot, will pause and think for a moment before acting. ClickFix takes that assumption and turns it into the attack itself. The fake verification screen does not ask the user to prove they are human by thinking.

Every AI Agent Creates Security Debt. Most Organizations Aren't Tracking It.

Technical debt accumulates when organizations prioritize immediate speed and defer the architectural work that keeps systems dependable. Most engineering leaders know how that story ends. The shortcuts that made the first release possible eventually slow down every release after it. The agentic enterprise is creating a security equivalent.

How to Block Sensitive Data in AI Prompts at the Endpoint

A data loss prevention (DLP) team writes a rule to keep customer records out of ChatGPT. The rule catches an uploaded spreadsheet but misses the same records pasted into a prompt, because no file transfer occurred. The team adds text pattern matching to close the gap, and the rule starts flagging harmless prompts that happen to contain a name and a number. Both failures share one cause. The rule judges what the text looks like and cannot see where it came from.

Application Security for GDPR Compliance: A Complete Guide

Seven years after the General Data Protection Regulation came into force, organizations are still learning a hard lesson: GDPR compliance is a technical lesson as much as it is a legal one. Application security for GDPR compliance sits at the center of that reality, because the personal data GDPR protects lives in your software: your web applications, your APIs, your cloud-native services, your third-party integrations.
