The 2021 Egnyte for Life Sciences Summit is in the books, and it was a big success. Biotech visionaries and industry analysts came together to outline the future of the life sciences as we emerge from the pandemic constraints and look to ramp up to our new normal. We presented over four hours of content, with hundreds of life science organizations attending.

Black Hat USA is one of the industry’s oldest and most well-established security events. Last year, the conference was held virtually for the first time in its history. This year’s conference brought together the best of both worlds, with a hybrid event that was held virtually and in person in Las Vegas. Historically, Black Hat has seen about 20,000 attendees at its in-person conference.

Members of the cybersecurity industry — including the Devo team — are gathering this week for the annual Black Hat USA conference in Las Vegas. Some will be present in person. Many others will participate virtually due to travel issues related to the pandemic. In either case, the latest edition of Black Hat, and its home city, have me thinking about cybersecurity and… gambling.

A couple of weeks ago The Payments Canada SUMMIT gathered more than 2,000 delegates from financial institutions in Canada and around the world for a virtual one-week conference. Our team participated in industry discussions, met peers, and learned more about future innovation opportunities in the financial ecosystem. 2021 was a record-breaking year for The Payments Canada SUMMIT.

Anne Neuberger, Deputy National Security Advisor for Cyber and Emerging Technology, addressed President Biden’s executive order at the virtual RSA Conference this week. The executive order, announced on May 12, 2021, aims to safeguard U.S. cybersecurity and modernize cybersecurity defenses.
