Welcoming Samantha Wessels: Snyk's New Vice President, EMEA Sales

It's become a bit of an inside joke within Snyk that every year (quarter...month...week!) to come is the most important in the company's history. We chuckle, but indeed while in hyper growth mode as we strive to disrupt a legacy industry and put the right security tools in the hands of every one of the world's 27 million developers, it couldn't be more true!

So as we indeed kick off the most significant year in the company's history, I'm thrilled to announce that Samantha Wessels has joined Snyk as our new Vice President, EMEA Sales.

Originally from South Africa, Samantha now lives in Surrey, England, with her family, and, over the past two decades, has built an impressive sales track record. Samantha is well respected within the global technology industry for her ability to rally her teams to achieve ambitious targets and embrace transformation, underpinned by her customer-first, consultative selling approach as well as her passion for mentoring and volunteering.

Most recently, Samantha served as Vice President, EMEA Sales, at Elastic (NYSE: ESTC) where over the past three years, she helped build and orchestrate a successful go to market motion across Europe in key markets. Prior to her impactful time with Elastic, she held several leadership roles during 15 impressive years with Dimension Data (now a part of NTT), including Senior Vice President, Group Sales Operations and Enablement as well as SVP, Global Cloud Sales.

From our first meeting, I was struck by Samantha's infectious ambition and energy as well as her clear passion for building – and harnessing the power of – diverse, global teams. I look forward to the two of us working together to find more innovative ways to incorporate Snyk Impact initiatives into the day to day efforts of our global sales organization. To this end, Samantha is passionate about bringing more women into sales across the technology industry, and I intend to lean on her passion and expertise here to ensure that Snyk recruits and retains more talented female sales leaders in 2022 and beyond.
