Instead of thorough testing and on-site inspections, insurance companies rely on organizations to truthfully disclose their cybersecurity measures. If an organization fails to provide an accurate account, their insurance may be deemed invalid, leading to contentious disputes between insurers and organizations over the level of security in place. This situation highlights the challenging dynamics between insurers and organizations in assessing and ensuring cybersecurity readiness.
