GitGuardian is proud to introduce our new Machine Learning-powered Generic Secret Enricher, helping all customers quickly understand the origin and type of discovered generic secrets.
The 2025 GitGuardian State of Secret Sprawl report shows that 58% of all detected secrets fall into the generic category.
Analysis of and prioritization of generic plaintext credentials in the remediation process have proven a real challenge for many organizations using traditional, manual practices. This is why we developed our new Generic Secret Enricher, an internally built and managed machine learning feature that contextually analyzes any generic secret to organize them into three new filtered categories - Provider, Category, and Family.
Now, anyone using GitGuardian can quickly triage all detected generic secrets by applying one or all of these new filters.
