NAKIVO Launches v11.1 Featuring Expanded Disaster Recovery and MSP Capabilities

The updated version delivers a comprehensive suite of new features and enhancements aimed at strengthening disaster resilience and minimizing downtime and data loss across different IT environments, while improving accessibility and optimizing MSP tenant management.
Multilingual Interface: 5 New Languages
With version 11.1, NAKIVO Backup & Replication expands its language support to include French, Italian, German, Polish, and Chinese, in addition to English and Spanish. Users can perform backup tasks, automate disaster recovery, oversee virtual environments and restore data in the language most comfortable to them.
Expanded Backup Capabilities for Proxmox VE
After introducing it in version 11, NAKIVO Proxmox backup software continues to enhance its support for Proxmox VE with the v11.1 release. Organizations can now achieve stronger disaster resilience without major infrastructure investments. The update brings an array of new capabilities, including:
- Flash VM Boot for instant recovery, enabling business operations to resume in seconds.
- VM Replication to maintain high availability and provide rapid failover during outages or data corruption.
- VM Template backup and recovery for quick, uniform deployment of preconfigured virtual machines.
- Automated backup verification featuring detailed reports and recovery screenshots to confirm data integrity.
- Direct recovery from tape devices without requiring an intermediate staging repository.
- Log Truncation for Exchange and SQL Servers to optimize storage efficiency and maintain system performance.
MSP Direct Connect
Traditionally, connecting MSP infrastructure to client environments required maintaining open ports on the client’s side.
With NAKIVO MSP backup software v11.1, the improved MSP Direct Connect removes this requirement, introducing a secure and simplified MSP-tenant connection model that accelerates deployment and onboarding without complex network setup.
All communication between the MSP Director and Client Transporter is encrypted end-to-end, meeting strict internal and external security standards. The update also expands Direct Connect support to Hyper-V and Proxmox VE, alongside VMware and Windows/Linux physical systems, ensuring smooth service delivery across a broad range of environments.
Real-Time Replication for VMware
Now, when you backup VMWare VMs with NAKIVO v11.1, the Real-Time Replication feature allows you to create VMware VM replicas that remain continuously synchronized with their source machines as changes occur in real time.
Configuration has been greatly simplified: v11.1 automatically deploys the necessary IO Filter and Journal Service, removing manual setup steps and reducing administrative overhead.
Users can also embed a real-time replication failover action within Site Recovery workflows to automate failover to the live replicas. When triggered, the Site Recovery job initiates immediate failover, keeping systems operational with no downtime, data loss or manual input. To enhance security, all replicated data sent over unsecured WAN connections is encrypted, preventing unauthorized access or interception.
Granular Backup for Physical Machines
This new functionality allows users to choose exactly which folders or volumes within a physical system to protect. With v11.1, organizations can perform targeted backups of selected data on Windows and Linux machines, in addition to full-system backups.
Granular backups can be stored in virtually any destination, including local repositories, cloud storage, deduplication appliances, network shares or even tape, with full support for immutability, encryption and air-gapping.
Recovery is equally flexible: Data can be restored to SMB/NFS shares, sent via email or downloaded directly from a browser. If an issue arises, only the affected folder or volume needs to be restored, ensuring quick and efficient recovery.
